The Banquet

Every year the Purdue University Black Graduate Student Association celebrates the accomplishments of its membership, distinguished community organizations, and members of Purdue at our annual awards and recognition banquet. In the past the event has garnered participation from various campus partners, schools, and colleges. Please join us at our black-tie event and enjoy a beautiful evening of celebrating Black Excellence and Celebration.

Grad 101

Looking for what to do after graduation? Attend Grad 101! We host this talk and preparatory workshop to give an in-depth outline of options after undergrad (with industry and academic perspectives alike). This event is usually done in an open discussion forum with a panel of individuals that have experienced it all! We also use this event to inform young professionals and scholars the best practices on pursuing what they want after graduation as well as how to maintain a happy and healthy life doing so. We hope to see you there!

First Friday

Looking to mingle with BGSA? Come through and join us for food, socializing, and a good time on the first Friday of every month! This is a golden opportunity to see our membership and meet other scholars. Do not miss out on seeing everyone. Let the family reunion beg

Candidate Rite of Passage

On behalf of the Black Graduate Student Association, we would like to celebrate your academic achievement in our 3rd Annual Candidate Rite of Passage Ceremony. Candidate Rite of Passage is our annual ceremony that acknowledges and celebrates BGSA members who have achieved doctoral candidacy (preliminary exam completion) in their respective academic departments. Conferred upon each candidate is a charge to continue knowledge creation, mentorship, service to others, and completion of their program.
